Oct. 10, 2023- Hamamatsu Photonics K.K. announced the development of a new high-speed InGaAs area image sensor. Named the G16564-0808T, the sensor is made from indium (In), gallium (Ga), and arsenic (As) materials. Hamamatsu designed and developed this near-infrared area image sensor leveraging its unique circuit design technology. 


The new high-speed InGaAs area image sensor has a wider dynamic range and increased speed and accuracy for plastic sorting and similar applications. It boasts a high speed and a wide dynamic range, which has increased by up to two times compared to current products for hyperspectral cameras.


Dec. 13, 2022- JAI launched a new industrial prism-based line scan camera, model SW-4010Q-MCL. The new camera features 4-sensor line scan technology, which allows for the simultaneous collection of green, red, and blue image data on three separate CMOS sensors and a fourth sensor that collects image data from the SWIR spectrum using an indium gallium arsenide (InGaAs) sensor technology.


Jan. 06, 2022- Attollo Engineering, a global engineering expert and supplier of infrared imaging, LiDAR/LADAR, and laser sensing solutions, introduced a new low-cost, miniature shortwave infrared (SWIR) QVGA camera. This quarter-VGA format camera (320 x 256 resolutions) is based on indium gallium arsenide (InGaAs) shortwave infrared technology. This innovative camera is designed for applications that require low size, weight, and power (low-SWaP).


Dec. 11, 2021- STMicroelectronics presented details of a quantum dot SWIR image sensor at the International Electronic Devices Meeting (IEDM) held in San Francisco. The devices were manufactured on 300mm wafers and are suitable for high-volume production at a relatively low cost.
