Growing the use of smartphones is driving the market growth
Market CAGR for display drivers is driven by the Increasing customer spending on media and entertainment is the main force behind the growth of smartphone use worldwide. Smartphones are high-quality and fast, and they work like computers by giving you information in real-time. They became a big part of how people lived. Because technology changes quickly, it has a short life span. This forces major players to spend money on research to develop and separate their products with more advanced features. Demand for display drivers is expected to rise due to the issues mentioned above in the future.
Additionally, the demand for display driver integrated circuits (DDIC) is increasing because of the widespread use of LCD panels in many electronic devices. LCD screens are used in many devices, including TVs, laptops, smartphones, and more. The market is also affected by big electronic paper displays being used in more places because they are easier to use, cheaper to make, easier to read and use less energy. The display driver integrated circuit (DDIC) market is also helped by fast development, changes in lifestyle, a rise in investments, and more consumer spending. Therefore, the increasing prevalence of Display Driver is fueling the expansion of the international market.
For instance, magnachip semiconductor corporation reported unveiling two seventh-generation MXT Metal-Oxide Semiconductor Field-Effect Transistors (MOSFETs) 1 for smartphone battery protection circuits based on its Super-Short Channel technology. As a result, the demand for display drivers is predicted to grow throughout the forecasted time due to the rising demand for smartphones. Thus, the driving factor is the display driver market revenue.

Display Driver Industry Developments
January 2024: Today marks the debut of a new feature that Nvidia is making available to all users of RTX GPUs: RTX Video HDR. RTX Video HDR makes use of artificial intelligence to transform SDR color space video to HDR. This is similar to how Nvidia's RTX Video Super Resolution can improve the quality of outdated, grainy online videos. All that is required is a display that is compatible with HDR10 and has HDR enabled in Windows.
The RTX Video HDR driver was included in the 551.23 Game Ready driver version that was released today for the introduction of the new RTX 4070 Ti Super. It has added a minor color detail to 4K YouTube videos that weren't published in HDR. This feature is compatible with both Microsoft Edge and Google Chrome. It is possible that the effect might be more noticeable on a more advanced HDR display; nonetheless, it was impossible to detect anything about it until I repeatedly toggled it on and off. Previously, when RTX Video Super Resolution was used to upscale and sharpen ancient YouTube videos, it produced results that were comparable to what is found here.
In the same way that many of Nvidia's AI-powered features need an RTX card, RTX Video HDR does as well. This is because it makes use of the tensor cores that Nvidia first began delivering in its RTX 20-series graphics processing units (GPUs). In addition, Nvidia's Deep Learning Super Sampling (DLSS) technology makes use of artificial intelligence algorithms in order to enhance the frame rates and visual quality of video games. Additionally, in 2022, Nvidia introduced its Deep Learning Dynamic Super Resolution (DLDSR) technology, which was designed to enhance picture quality by rendering games at a greater resolution. Nvidia Broadcast also contains a function called Eye Contact, which use artificial intelligence to create the illusion that you are establishing eye contact when you are on a video conversation.
April 2023: The ROHM-developed BD83A04EFV-M, BD83A14EFV-M, and BD82A26MUF-M 4ch/6ch LED driver ICs are designed for medium to large-scale automobile displays in instrument and infotainment clusters.
December 2022: Himax Technologies has announced a collaboration with Novatek Microelectronics Corp. (TWSE: 3034) ("Novatek"), a leading fabless chip design firm that specializes in the design, development, and marketing of a wide range of display driver ICs & SoC solutions, to introduce the market-leading ultralow power pre-roll AI solution for a battery-operated security camera at CES 2023.
