January 2024: Today marks the debut of a new feature that Nvidia is making available to all users of RTX GPUs: RTX Video HDR. RTX Video HDR makes use of artificial intelligence to transform SDR color space video to HDR. This is similar to how Nvidia's RTX Video Super Resolution can improve the quality of outdated, grainy online videos. All that is required is a display that is compatible with HDR10 and has HDR enabled in Windows.


The RTX Video HDR driver was included in the 551.23 Game Ready driver version that was released today for the introduction of the new RTX 4070 Ti Super. It has added a minor color detail to 4K YouTube videos that weren't published in HDR. This feature is compatible with both Microsoft Edge and Google Chrome.
