    • Nov 2023: Walmart revealed that it provides its employees nationwide with more virtual primary healthcare services. As part of the expansion, virtual primary care physicians and specialists in digestive health and physical therapy will be accessible to employees and their dependents who are enrolled in most of the company's medical plans. A corporate statement claims that most services will be provided with no copay in all states other than Hawaii, which has its benefits package. The nation's largest private business is now providing virtual medical services to its employees; the outcomes could set a precedent for other companies looking to increase the scope of their telehealth offerings.

    • Oct 2023: To generate carbon-neutral, sustainable aviation fuel (SAF), US technology giant Honeywell International Inc. and Brazilian industrial biotechnology business GranBio Technologies have chosen to collaborate. According to a release, the cooperation would enable GranBio's patented cellulosic ethanol AVAP technology and Honeywell's ethanol-to-jet (ETJ) technology to manufacture SAF from biomass leftovers at GranBio's upcoming demonstration plant in the US. Using the AVAP process, biomass—including agricultural and forest residues—is transformed into lignin, nanocellulose, and pure, inexpensive, low-carbon sugars. Then, using Honeywell's ETJ technology, the cellulosic sugars can be transformed into biochemicals using a different method and SAF.
