The US-based Rental Equipment Centre has been acquired by Herc Rentals, a top-tier, full-service equipment rental business offering clients the tools and services. The former is equipped with a wide range of machinery, including lighting towers, compressors, scissor lifts, loaders, and generators. REC will definitely reach new heights because to Herc's culture, fleet resources, and expertise, providing excellent service to consumers and exciting opportunities for REC's staff for years to come. Herc has already acquired six purchases in 2023 at a total cost of $271 million. Herc recently announced an 18% rise in rental revenue to $702 million in Q2 of 2023.

Ashtead Group, a company that rents out equipment, announced the beginning of a fresh share buyback scheme. Ashtead Technology is a global provider of offshore energy solutions, subsea equipment rentals, and cutting-edge technology. The last buyback scheme for the FTSE 100 company, which had been announced in April 2021, ended on April 28 of this year. It claimed that it maintained discipline in its capital allocation strategy, with the principal goal of enhancing shareholder value. As a result, Ashtead's capital allocation methodology stayed the same, giving top priority to greenfields, same-store growth, organic fleet growth, bolt-on acquisitions, and a progressive dividend.
The business said that in addition to these aims, it had also thought about increasing shareholder returns. After accounting for dividends, bolt-on mergers and acquisitions, organic growth, and available capital, the buyback amount was determined to keep the company's net debt-to-EBITDA pre-IFRS 16 ratios within the 1.5x to 2x target range.
