    June 2023- The High-Powered Procurement Committee (HPPC) meeting held recently at Chandigarh under the chairmanship of Haryana Chief Minister Mr. Manohar Lal approved a decision to set up a mega micro-irrigation project in the district area with the aim of providing better irrigation facilities to the farmers of Morni region of Panchkula district of the state settled in Shivalik mountains. As part of the integrated micro-irrigation project, an infiltration gallery will be created from which clean water will be supplied. Water will be transported to the tank easily through pipes and wells, where a drip irrigation system for micro irrigation will be installed.


    April 2023- The Rajasthan government of late has approved Rs 463 crore to strengthen the micro irrigation system in the state. Revised Rajasthan Micro Irrigation Project will help about 50,000 farmers build agricultural ponds in the upcoming two years.  The government proposes to spend more than Rs 260 billion on this. The non-marginal farmers belonging to the scheduled caste tribes will get about 10% additional subsidy as small and marginal farmers. To help them, the subsidy limit for the construction of plastic-lined agricultural ponds has been increased by Rs 1. 20 lakhs from Rs 90,000.  This move will definitely give farmers more time to repay debt.


    April 2023- The Ashok Gehlot government's Rajasthan micro-irrigation mission is proving to be a revolutionary step for farmers in the water-starved state. For farmers, who largely depend on the monsoon to grow their crops, this mission gives them new hope.
