Feb 2023 Bosch Rexroth acquired HydraForce in full after antitrust authorities gave its clearance. By adding HydraForce to Bosch Rexroth's Compact Hydraulics line, the business unit will be able to provide more customer support and a wider range of products. On July 15, 2022, the companies first inked the acquisition deal. While both businesses provide a range of compact hydraulic devices, Bosch Rexroth's current product line will be enhanced by HydraForce's expertise in the development of mechanical and electrical cartridge valves as well as hydraulic integrated circuits (HIC). Bosch Rexroth claims that the combination of the two businesses' product lines will allow for a wider choice of offerings to satisfy different customer needs and support the regionalization of supply chains, which is an increasing area of focus for many businesses to meet customer demand more easily.
Jun 2023 SKF AB, a Swedish bearings maker, announced that it had allocated SEK 3 billion (USD 274.5 million/EUR 257 million) to finance decarbonization initiatives between 2023 and 2028, including renewable energy sources. The group has decided to forbid any investments in fossil fuels for its activities and, by 2029, to substitute approved non-fossil fuel alternatives or renewable energy for the direct consumption of fossil gas. Currently, the group uses renewable energy sources for more than half of its electricity needs. It reported that by concentrating on energy efficiency and the economical manufacture and use of resources, it has reduced its Scope 1 and 2 emissions by 46% since 2015 while steadily increasing its share of renewable energy.
