September 2023- A leading Japanese home heating appliances producer, Rinnai Corp, has announced the launch of a new hot water heat pump for small commercial and residential applications. The latest heat pump, HydraHeat, is made by Rinnai in New Zealand and is particularly engineered for climatic situations with temperatures varying from -10 C to 42 C and coastal regions. The system is engineered for outside deployments and can't be utilized as a swimming pool heater or for hydronic applications. It comprises a 1 kW top unit with heat pump technology taking out thermal energy from ambient air and a 4.7 kW cylinder working on electricity or in heat pump mode. The devices utilize a circulation pump to take out water from the bottom of the storage cylinder, heat it, and return it to the cylinder at a greater temperature. The heat pump and other tank elements can heat the water to a temperature of up to 70 C. The latest product works in full heat pump mode down to -10 C with no requirement for electric boosting. It has dimensions such as 1,750 mm x 510 mm x 1,240 mm and weighs 400 kg.
