Forage Seeds Market
September 2023- DLF has officially purchased Corteva Agriscience's alfalfa breeding program. DLF is a Danish farmer-owned global seed company that markets both forage and lawn grass seeds. The purchase includes Corteva's worldwide alfalfa genetic resources and breeding program, the Alforex Seeds brand name, and trademarks such as Hi-Gest alfalfa technology, Hi-Ton high-performance alfalfa, Hi-Salt salt-tolerance alfalfa, and msSuntra hybrid technology. DLF has also obtained Corteva's current commercial alfalfa varieties, as well as select research and development staff located in the Midwest and Pacific Northwest regions of the United States.
June 2023- The seeds company Advanta has formed a partnership with nurture.farm to start the Nutrifeed Germination Scheme. This scheme seeks to protect farmers from any failure of forage crop seeds to germinate (Forage Millet Hybrids Nutrifeed). As part of the risk protection, farmers will receive compensation if the seeds for forage crops like sorghum, millet, and corn do not germinate within 15 days after planting. By providing germination risk coverage together with nurture.farm, Advanta is giving farmers confidence that they will be covered if the seeds fail to germinate due to environmental stress.
November 2022- The Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) of the United Nations held an event in the Bashiqa area of Nineveh, Iraq to keep providing forage seeds to over 160 farmers and livestock breeders, as per a press release from the UNAMI. The farmers and livestock breeders emphasized FAO's important role in improving their work through presenting new techniques that will advance the agricultural industry and create more employment opportunities.
