Latest Company Updates:
September 2023- Accelovant, a pioneering creator of fiber-optic sensing technologies for the semiconductor, industrial, IoT, manufacturing, and power distribution industries, revealed it has introduced a fiber optic temperature detector for use inside semiconductor process chambers under vacuum states. The new Vacuum Series of sensors can precisely and steadily measure temperature from -95 ÌC to 450 ÌC, and is unaffected by RF, vacuum, and various process circumstances. These devices add to the most recent progressions in accurate temperature sensing solutions where functioning in extreme temperatures and harsh operating situations are vital.
March 2023- The first patients have been diagnosed with heart disease using a novel fiber optic sensor technology. Doctors at University College London (UCL) have utilized an ultrathin fiber optic sensor catheter called iKOr to detect causes of cardiovascular disease in patients for the first time. The iKOr device incorporates fiber optic sensors into a microcatheter that allows physicians to measure blood pressure and flow around the heart to identify narrowing or thickening of arteries, which are common indicators of heart disease. UCL developed the technology together with Queen Mary University of London and later commercialized it through their spinout company Echopoint. The fiber optic sensor catheter is currently being trialed at Barts Health NHS Trust to diagnose heart disease in patients.
February 2023- Intelligent Optical Systems, Inc. (IOS) revealed the Apollo Water Sensor system, an optode-sensing platform intended for precise measurements in difficult surroundings. With its best-in-class small size, light weight, and low power usage, the Apollo relies on fiber optic technology and can make very precise measurements. "The Apollo's fiber optic sensors have several benefits, such as small size and weight, and decreased disruption from unwanted compounds.
