Two significant orders have been given to Siemens to install the infrastructure needed for electric buses, or "e-buses," to be charged in two German cities. Siemens will once more assist Hamburger Hochbahn AG, one of the biggest public transport providers in Germany, in achieving its objective of running a fleet of buses that is entirely emission-free by 2030. Siemens in Saarlouis will make it possible for Kreisverkehrsbetriebe Saarlouis (KVS GmbH) to make a seamless transition to electric buses. Planning, setting up the infrastructure for charging, and integrating it with the medium-voltage grid are all included in the projects. Multi-year maintenance contracts are added to this. Eliminating all buses that run on diesel will save about 66,000 tonnes of CO2 annually in Hamburg alone.
Siemens was given an order by Hamburger Hochbahn AG in March 2023 to outfit the Harburg II bus depot with DC charging capabilities for its expanding fleet of e-buses. With a nominal power of 150 kW each, a total of twenty SICHARGE UC charging points of the most recent generation will be installed on five lanes in order to achieve this goal. Â

Proterra Inc. and ABC Companies declared the official launch of North America's first electric bus charging station. Situated on a 3.5-acre campus in Newark, California, the facility can accommodate 1.4 megawatts of EV charging power and can charge up to 40 electric buses with 20 dual-cable EV charging dispensers. Proterra's battery technology powers an increasing number of Van Hool 100% electric buses, for which the facility provides improved service, delivery, training, and support.
