November 2023- ALP Utilities is upgrading its electric and water meters system-wide. In a letter to its customers, the utility said the installation and deployment of new electric meters started last week. Allegiant Utility Services will manage the upgrade. During this period, Allegiant contractors may be present in people's yards as they work on upgrading the electric meters. To identify the staff, Allegiant will use ALP co-branded identification on their trucks and name badges. The deployment of the new water meters will follow the installation of electric meters. ALP Utilities said it's important to be aware that all water meters are located inside homes, and an appointment with Allegiant will be required to complete the change-out. ALP Utilities said customers should stay tuned for further communication from ALP and Allegiant regarding the timing and scheduling of water meter upgrades.
November 2023- The popular global instant messaging app, IMO, has launched its latest feature, 'Light'. This innovative addition significantly enhances the user experience during video calls, especially in low-light conditions. The 'Light' feature aligns with IMO's commitment to localization and user-centric innovation. The functionality of the 'Light' feature is both simple and ingenious. It transforms areas of the phone screen into a luminous frame, thereby improving the video quality in dim environments by up to 100%. This feature allows users to engage in video calls with enhanced clarity, making it possible to see faces clearly, even in poorly lit settings. The feature is also notably beneficial during unexpected power outages. Arif Ahmed, an IMO user, commented on the utility of this feature and that video calling in dimly lit spaces has always been a challenge. The new 'Light' feature from IMO has significantly improved this aspect, allowing them to communicate with friends and family comfortably. It's a game-changer, ensuring that the user no longer needs to be in a well-lit room for clear video calls.
