The first slurry-type shaft boring machine (CREC 1206), developed and manufactured by China Railway Engineering Equipment Group Co., Ltd. (CREG), successfully finished the excavation of two blind shafts. A new technique for the automated construction of pump rooms was introduced by this discovery.
For the Wangjingxi Station-Yongshiying Station section of Beijing Metro Line 17, two pump rooms were dug at a depth of 5.5 meters using CREC 1206, which has a diameter of 3.1 meters. These pump rooms were utilized to drain the wastewater in the main tube. Silty clay, silt, fine sand, partial clay, coarse sand, etc. make up the majority of the geology.

According to TERRATEC, a company founded by three Japanese industrial giants - IHI Corporation, Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, and CEC - the final two of four 8.38-m diameter Earth Pressure Balance Tunnel Boring Machines (EPBMs) to be used by FUTSU-OBAYASHI-CEC Joint Venture (FOC JV) for its underground works contract on Taoyuan MRT Green Line Contract GC03, in Taoyuan city of Taiwan for the Department of Rapi.
For Contract GC03, the FOC JV has acquired a total of four EPBMs from JIMT. In 2021, the first two EPBMs with a 6.24-m diameter finished their factory acceptance tests (FATs). The factory acceptance tests for the final two 8.38-m-diameter EPBMs have recently been completed.
Five of the seven TBMs were made in TERRATEC's plant, with Japan providing essential components for the remaining two. Obayashi Corp., a Japanese contractor, has determined that the performance and quality are on par with products that are created in Japan.
