Together, Zeiger and Spark Industries have created a new heated tapered nozzle that can operate autonomously, reduce pressure drop, and be used with aggressive materials like polysulfones and halogen-free flame retardants (HFFR).

The heating element of the nozzle, which slides over the body, is made of swaged stainless steel and promises maximum heat transfer and uniformity. It is heated by a high-surface-area heating element wire that is precisely wound and has a thermocouple that can be replaced. The nozzle body has a continuous taper in its melt channel and is made of hardened PM stainless tool steel.
