Top Industry Leaders in the Pharmaceutical Logistics Market
September 2023
The Deutsche Post DHL Group's air and ocean freight forwarding subsidiary, DHL Global Forwarding, announced that it had opened a $1.5 million facility in Indianapolis International Airport specifically for the transportation of pharmaceuticals.
The unit will offer its first temperature-controlled cargo service between Indianapolis and Brussels thanks to the new 30,000-square-foot facility with direct access to the airport ramp, a DHL ground handling operation, and a dedicated twice-weekly B777F air cargo freighter connection with Liege, Belgium. In neighbouring Plainfield, Indiana, the unit already has a temperature-controlled life sciences facility.
By eliminating the need for specialised temperature-controlled unit loading devices, the entire process has been designed to ship pharmaceuticals and other life sciences products while maintaining quality control and saving money and time on transit.
According to the business, its expansion into central Indiana has reinforced the area's standing as a major hub for the development, production, and transportation of goods for the pharmaceutical, life sciences, and healthcare industries.
August 2023
Marken and SkyCell, a pioneer and top producer of temperature-controlled hybrid containers for the pharmaceutical sector, are joining hands to offer cutting-edge shipping options for pharmaceutical products undergoing clinical trials. Through the partnership, Marken will be able to ship vital and temperature-sensitive medications in SkyCell containers.
Marken intends to employ the 1500DF Euro Max and the 1500X, two distinct SkyCell containers. For frozen goods, the 1500DF Euro Max offers temperature stability for up to 300 hours (-60°C to -80°C). For COL goods (+2°C to +8°C) and CRT goods (+15°C to +25°C), the 1500X can run independently for up to 270 hours. Â
