    • Aug 2023: The previously disclosed transactions involving the ownership, management, and renovation of long-term care facilities in Ontario and Manitoba have been finalized, according to a statement released by Extendicare Inc. The acquisition of Revera's 15% stake in a portfolio of 25 long-term care ("LTC") facilities, which has 3,100 funded LTC beds and is held in a joint venture partnership with an Axium Infrastructure Inc. affiliate, is one of the transactions' highlights. Extendicare oversees managing these facilities. To improve the provision of superior care and services throughout Extendicare's homes, Revera's LTC operations team also merged with Extendicare. The Revera deals support Extendicare's focus on long-term and home health care utilizing a less capital-intensive, better-margin business model. This strategy was advanced in 2022 with the sale of Extendicare's portfolio of retirement residences. Extendicare's growth strategy will center on running and developing additional long-term care facilities, developing its home healthcare business, and growing its Managed Services segment by offering management and consulting services.
