Jaguar TCS Racing and Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) confirm the introduction of a cloud-based platform for the team's current software and data analytics. The data transfer from the racecourse to the racing team headquarters and back will be accelerated by the new technology. This will provide performance insights and assist Jaguar TCS Racing realise the full potential of digital twin technology.
The Jaguar TCS Racing programme relies heavily on digital twin technology, or the digital equivalents of real products, for strategy and race planning. They give the racing team the ability to test designs or procedures more quickly and cheaply than they could with a physical deployment; in some situations, they even let them test them simultaneously.
Jaguar TCS Racing uses the cloud technology, powered by Amazon Web Services (AWS), to expedite vital data analytics for testing and optimising the car's setup and race plan. The Jaguar TCS Racing team gathers about three terabytes (TB) of data during the course of a race weekend. Â
