Jan 2023: In the Brooks neighborhood of San Antonio, Texas, Soli Organic Inc. has revealed plans to construct a state-of-the-art, automated indoor farming and co-located packing factory. The Brooks farm will expand Soli Organic's national footprint by 100,000 square feet, enabling the company to meet the demands of retailers and end users through high-tech farms strategically placed across the nation. This includes an additional 40,000 square feet of processing and six vertical layers of production capacity. While some controlled environment agriculture (CEA) companies employ single-layer greenhouse technology, Soli Organic uses a denser and deeper six-level tray structure that better uses horizontal and vertical space, resulting in much higher yields. Due to its advantageous location, Soli Organic decided to locate its second farm in the Brooks community and San Antonio. The farm will increase the company's capacity to supply more locally grown goods to millions of customers and 3,000 stores in the rapidly expanding Texas Triangle and Southwest region.
