RHI Magnesita revealed today that it has acquired Seven Refractories' businesses in Europe, India, and the United States. This purchase will enhance RHI Magnesita's current non-basic refractories portfolio and create new potential for the advancement of low CO2 emitting industrial technologies.
In addition to iron and steel, cement, aluminium, and non-ferrous metals, Seven Refractories is a specialist supplier of non-basic monolithic refractory mixes with a wide range of uses. With the development of new low CO2 emission production methods within RHI Magnesita's core customer industries, non-basic refractory mixes are anticipated to gain more significance. From low temperature fireclay to ultra-high temperature zircon mixes, high-grade alumina mixes, and sustainable taphole clay with a reduced CO2 footprint, Seven Refractories offers a variety of products.
It is anticipated that the acquisition will be highly complementary to the Group's current non-basic portfolio and allow RHI Magnesita to offer a wider variety of non-basic refractory mixtures. Cross-selling opportunities, logistical enhancements, enhanced recycling usage, procurement efficiency, and low capital intensity brownfield expansion projects are used to seek attractive potential synergies.
