April 2023- India's Home Minister Amit Shah launched the "first liquid nano DAP (Di-Ammonia Phosphate) fertilizer in the world". The liquid DAP, manufactured by the Indian Farmers Fertiliser Cooperative Ltd (IFFCO), is being promoted as a revolutionary product since it will assist farmers in reducing production expenses and transitioning away from chemical fertilizers. IFFCO possesses a patent on its nano urea and nano DAP, so the cooperative will receive royalties for the product for the next 20 years. Based on its promising findings, the Agriculture Ministry approved IFFCO's nano DAP fertilizer and announced it in the Fertiliser Control Order (FCO) in March of this year.
