Aiming to develop next-generation hybrid systems and establish a battery pack factory in Korea, South Korean automaker KG Mobility (formerly SsangYong Motor Company) recently signed strategic agreements with the BYD Group as part of its reorganization towards environmentally conscientious vehicles.
Battery packs made in Korea will be used in the Torres EVX, the company's new BEV pickup, which will go into mass production in the second half of 2024, as well as in other relevant vehicle models, according to the agreement. Â

Toyota Motor Manufacturing Turkey (TMMT) in Sakarya, roughly 150 km east of Istanbul, is set to produce the second generation Toyota C-HR. The new Toyota C-HR is set to become the first plug-in hybrid passenger car to be produced in Turkey, and it will be offered in both hybrid and plug-in hybrid variants. Furthermore, Toyota Motor Europe's TMMT facility will be the first to have a battery production line and to begin manufacturing plug-in hybrid cars.
Together with the hybrid model, the newly designed plug-in hybrid Toyota C-HR with locally built batteries will broaden Toyota's array of technological offerings as it works towards its goal of having all of its vehicle models in Europe produce zero CO2 emissions by 2035.
