Jul 2023: ResMed revealed that it will acquire Somnoware, a software provider that provides physicians and clinics with a centralized location for managing patient care and diagnostic processes related to sleep disorders and other respiratory ailments. ResMed stated that it intends to maintain the "open and device-agnostic nature" of Somnoware's technology, enabling it to be used with diagnostic tests and therapeutic devices from a wide range of suppliers, even though it will incorporate all Somnoware's employees and software solutions into its own business. ResMed stated that the acquisition would not significantly affect its financial performance, although it did not reveal the financial parameters of the agreement. Sleep laboratories and pulmonary function testing labs can use Somnoware's software to speed up scheduling diagnostic tests and interpreting results. From there, medical professionals can review the results, place orders for CPAP, BiPAP, and other necessary devices, monitor patient equipment usage and schedule follow-up visits.
