June 2023: Halo-Lido (CITI-002) is a topical formulation developed by Citius Pharmaceuticals, Inc. for the treatment of hemorrhoid pain and bleeding. The goals of this study were to (1) evaluate the effectiveness of the combo product, (2) determine the optimal dose and endpoints for a Phase 3 trial, and (3) verify the reliability of the PRO. Patients reported a significant improvement in their symptoms after using the high dosage formulation of CITI-002, a mixture of lidocaine and halobetasol propionate. In addition, CITI-002 was well tolerated by research participants and no serious side events were noted. Planning for the next steps in the regulatory and clinical development program for CITI-002 will begin with a meeting between Citius and the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) after the conclusion of Phase 2.
- The Lockado Hemostasis Clip, an addition to the SureClip line, was recently launched by Micro-Tech Endoscopy USA. The enhanced clamping function of Lockado enables the clip to exert a higher level of closure and retention force on the adjacent tissue, thereby securing it in position. Furthermore, the incorporation of opposing atraumatic teeth in the arms of the clip enhances the grip strength, so providing consumers with a more stable hold for effective tissue manipulation. The simplicity of use and ergonomic design of SureClip contributed to its popularity among Micro-Tech clients. The advantages persist with Lockado. The thumb ring, which is designed for convenience, enables easy deployment, while the rotating grip offers a full range of controlled rotation spanning 360 degrees. The Lockado provides clinicians with enhanced precision, dependability, and increased assurance.
