On Oct. 31, 2021 Smiths Detection announced signing a contract with the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) to supply explosive trace detection systems (ETD) to airports across the US over the next two years, including on-site service maintenance. The contract values at over US$4 million include the supply of IONSCAN 500DT explosives trace detection systems certified on the TSA Qualified Products List for security screening.
On Sep. 05, 2023, Bruker (BRKR) announced signing a contract with Fraport AG to supply its ETD Systems to complement its airport security measures. Under the contract terms, Bruker will provide up to 220 DE-tectorTM flex explosives and narcotics trace detectors.
On Aug.16, 2023, Bruker Corporation announced that it would provide 60 explosives trace detectors for Zuerich Airport. The largest Swiss Airport operator, Flughafen Zürich AG, will deploy high-performance Bruker DE-tector Flex (Drugs & Explosives Detector) Systems to enhance passenger and airport security.
