The Angel Revo Halo is the first saddle recently launched by Velo Saddles to feature ETPU foam. Following the 2022 release of the Angel Revo with nitrogen-infused Atmos Foam, Velo is thrilled to introduce Halo Foam, which makes use of ETPU, to a new level of comfort. Providing riders with an expanded thermoplastic polyurethane foam (ETPU) option has several advantages, such as increased comfort, durability, and shock absorption. Titanium rails measuring 248mm in length and 148mm in width are available for the Angel Revo Halo.
Thermoplastic polyurethane pellets are heated and forced to expand, creating ETPU, a lightweight, flexible foam that compresses and rebounds rapidly. ETPU is frequently used in sporting goods.Â
The Angel Revo's use of Halo Foam offers remarkable shock absorption capabilities that greatly improve rider comfort, particularly on lengthy rides or on strenuous gravel adventures, by minimising the effect of bumps and vibrations from the road or trail. Because Halo Foam is so elastic and has such good shape recovery, the saddle can adjust to the rider's body contours. By reducing pressure points and increasing blood circulation, this customised fit helps to avoid numbness and discomfort.
The design makes use of Velo's exclusive EuphoraBase shell, a hybrid bioplastic made of glass fibre and plant-based materials that is not petroleum-based. With the help of patented Atmos Shaping technology, Halo's Omnicover and base are joined together imperceptibly. The knitted metallic threads and recycled polyurethane used to create the Halo Omnicover give it remarkable water resistance and durability. Â
