  Jan 2023: For an undisclosed fee, Fujifilm acquired Shenandoah Biotechnology, enhancing its cell and gene therapy capacity. Shenandoah, located in Warminster, Pennsylvania, enhances Fujifilm's capacity to generate recombinant proteins, particularly cytokines and growth factors, utilized in gene and cell treatments. According to its website, Shenandoah has a new Tuttnauer autoclave sterilizer, a 16x16 ColdBox, new air handling and RODI water systems, and an improved cGMP facility with bio-command software. According to Fujifilm, "all members" of the Shenandoah team are welcome. In 2006, the privately held business was founded. With the simultaneous $800 million takeover of Irvine Scientific Sales of California and IS Japan in 2018, Fujifilm jumped heavily into the cell and gene therapy supply industry.
