Saint-Gobain has acquired Twiga Fibreglass Ltd., located in Uttar Pradesh, for ₹400 crore. For ₹150 crore, Saint Gobain acquired the Indian company Rockwool, which produces stone wool, last year. The acquisition of Twiga further strengthens Saint Gobain's position in India for façade and interior solutions.
The company's energy decarbonization will account for about ₹500 crore of the ₹8,000-crore investment programme for 2021–25. Using more cullets—recycled broken glass—to make glass is one of its plans, along with substituting green hydrogen and electricity from solar and wind power for a portion of the natural gas used to run furnaces.

The global manufacturer of insulation and building materials, Knauf Group, is stepping up its operations in Eastern Europe. By adding a new production line, Knauf Insulation, the company's insulation division, intends to increase the size of its current facility in Novi Marof, northeastern Croatia.
The goal is to more than double the Novi Marof plant's yearly output. Similar to its present capabilities, Knauf Insulation will primarily produce insulation materials for use in technical and industrial applications as well as the construction sector. Furthermore, it is intended for the production portfolio to include Urbanscape systems for green roofs. By the end of this year, construction is expected to begin, and the new production line should be operational by 2025, based on current plans. Over the course of their lifetime, the insulation building materials produced on the new line are expected to cut CO2 emissions by almost 1.5 million tonnes.
In March 2022, BASF has expanded its line of graphitic expandable polystyrene (EPS) granulates. BASF introduced Neopor F 5 McycledTM, which comprises 10% recycled material and is suited for a wide range of building applications, including facade insulation.
In February 2021, Hira Industries has announced the release of Aero foam NBR Lap Seal Tubes, an effective and efficient thermal insulation solution that can be installed in a variety of residential and commercial complexes to provide corrosion protection while improving the building's safety, efficiency, and durability.
In September 2019, Demilec, Inc., a subsidiary of Huntsman Corporation and a manufacturer of open- and closed-cell spray polyurethane foam (SPF) insulation and coatings in North America, announced the launch of several spray foam insulation products for the Middle East market, as well as the opening of its Spray Foam Technical Application and Training Centre in Dubai.
