November 2023- Econocorp's Argo, which will be showcased at MJBizCon in Las Vegas, is designed to glue seal small cartons with a runnable size range of min: .6 in. x .6 in. x 1 in. to max: 4.5 in. x 2 in. x 6 in. Packing a small punch, it's capable of running 30 cartons/min (operator dependent) with a compact footprint that allows it to fit through a standard door frame easily. Featuring plug-and-play capabilities, simplicity runs through this new design. One pneumatic cylinder advances the carton past a Nordson hot melt glue system to a closure area, then discharged out the back of the machine. An Allen-Bradley PLC controls it, and for safety, there is a light curtain and indicator light that initiates the cycle and tells the operator when it is safe to load the next box. A single box-specific change part and full adjustability within allows for an incredibly fast changeover time. Argo is suited for a variety of industries, including but not limited to automotive, cannabis, cosmetics, food, nutraceuticals, and pharmaceuticals. Sam Goldberg, Director of Operations, said that it's a simple solution for those looking to take the first steps in carton sealing automation. He further added that they see a lot of potential to help startups and small businesses by planning to keep these units in stock to offer a solution within a matter of weeks directly from their plant. The Argo was initially created for Bon Bon Bon, based in Hamtramck, Mich. Needing to ramp up production of its miniature specialty chocolates quickly, it was looking for a solution that didn't exist in the marketplace.
