Constellium has completed the sale of three of its soft alloy aluminium extrusion plants to Vaessen Aluminium for a total cash consideration of €48.8 million. The facilities are located in Germany's Landau, Crailsheim, and Burg.
Constellium, a leader in the industry, creates cutting-edge, value-added aluminium products for a variety of industries and uses, such as packaging, aerospace, and the car industry. In 2022, Constellium made €8.1 billion in revenue.

Hindalco Industries of the Aditya Birla Group and the Italian company Metra SpA have partnered to develop large-size aluminium extrusion and fabrication technology for the construction of high-speed aluminium rail coaches in India. The partnership gives Hindalco the opportunity to spearhead Indian Railways' ambitious upgrade initiative, which manages the largest train network in the world.
Late on Monday night, Hindalco's US subsidiary Novelis made a separate announcement in which it stated that it had inked a new anchor customer contract with aluminium can manufacturer Ball Corporation for the Indian company's new factory in Bay Minette, Alabama. With an initial capacity of 600,000 tonnes of finished goods, Novelis is constructing a fully integrated aluminium manufacturing facility.

The recycled-content aluminium casting facility of Norsk Hydro, a Norwegian aluminium manufacturer, has reportedly begun using a new HyForge casting line. According to the firm, its $42.5 million investment will support "the automotive industry's drive to decarbonize, significantly increasing the use of recycled, postconsumer aluminium scrap" in the aluminium it utilises.
The facility's current annual extrusion ingot production is 95,000 metric tonnes; the new HyForge line has an annual capacity of 25,000 metric tonnes.
