According to the International Air Transport Association (IATA), the number of people traveling by air is expected to double by 2036. It predicts that China will likely surpass the United States and become the world's largest aviation market in terms of passenger traffic by 2024. In the United States, air passenger traffic is growing at a rate of 6.34%, and in China, it's expanding at 5.69% for the years 2019 to 2025. As more and more people choose to fly, the demand for new airplanes has gone up as well. To give you an idea, in 2017, Airbus, one of the major aircraft manufacturers, signed a massive deal worth $50 billion with Indigo Partners in the United States. This deal was one of the biggest in the history of commercial aviation and involved delivering 430 aircraft. In the same year, Airbus and Boeing, another major player in the aircraft industry, received orders for 1,109 and 912 aircraft, respectively.

Not only are existing airlines ordering more planes, but new airlines are also popping up in different parts of the world to serve the growing number of passengers. To illustrate, in 2017 alone, over 70 new airlines were launched globally to meet the increasing demand for air travel.
