November 2023- GMR Hyderabad Air Cargo (GHAC) has launched an import courier terminal to enable faster processing and clearance of imported courier shipments. The 24/7 import handling facility, spanning 300 square meters, is situated at the GHAC terminal site. Equipped with top-notch security screening and modern cargo handling systems, the facility is fully prepared to efficiently handle courier imports. Dedicated staff and customs officers ensure a smooth process for customs clearance and rapid turnaround of incoming courier parcels. The aim is to facilitate prompt import processing and release of courier cargo arriving at Hyderabad airport.
August 2023- The Transportation Security Administration (TSA) has broadened its 'Certified Cargo Screening Program' to allow more air cargo shippers to join the secure supply chain, while improving the speed and security of shipments. Supply chain partners now have the choice to go through training to gain Certified Cargo Screening Facility status. The Certified Cargo Screening Program makes sure that air cargo travels more rapidly and securely through the supply chain. TSA is actively promoting indirect air carriers, manufacturing plants, assembly plants, shippers, warehouses and distribution centres to apply for and become a Certified Cargo Screening Facility.
July 2023- The International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) and the World Customs Organization (WCO) have provided new guidance to assist the air cargo sector in managing threats to air cargo security. The third version of "Moving Air Cargo Globally" outlines the duties and obligations of various stakeholders and emphasizes how they can collaborate successfully to safeguard air cargo and mail within the regulatory framework. The guidance concentrates on procedures concerning high-risk cargo and screening, including preventative security actions aimed at staff members to mitigate the dangers presented by insiders.
