Ball Corporation declared on July 26 that it had acquired Neuman Aluminium, the top producer of aluminium slugs in North America, which are used to create technical impact extrusions, beverage bottles, aluminium collapsible tubes, and extruded aerosol cans. There was no disclosure of the transaction price.
Producing aluminium discs, or slugs, for premium packaging of household, beverage, and personal care products, Neuman Aluminium has plants in Verona, Virginia, and Sherbrooke, Quebec.
In 2009, Neuman Aluminium’s sales were roughly $128 million. About 180 workers are employed at the two plants, which will be incorporated into Ball's metal food and household product packaging division.
Ball Corporation provides aerospace and other technologies and services, mostly to the U.S. government, as well as premium packaging for consumers of food, drink, and household goods. More than 14,000 people are employed globally by Ball Corporation and its subsidiaries, which had more than $7.3 billion in sales in 2009.

High-quality paint and coatings manufacturer Diamond Vogel has closed the purchase of N92 Menomonee Falls, LLC, a division of The Sherwin-Williams Company. The company, which employs about 100 people and is based in Menomonee Falls, Wisconsin, produces custom aerosol, color-match touch-up paint and other specialty coatings. Products from well-known brands like Precision Colour, Quest, Raabe, Zolatone, and Z-Line are included in the portfolio.
The Menomonee Falls team's aerosol manufacturing experience adds depth and breadth to Diamond Vogel's already-existing aerosol manufacturing capabilities, and the acquisition of this manufacturing facility allows Diamond Vogel to accelerate their aerosol growth strategy.
August 2022:Â Ball Corporation launched a new aluminum aerosol can that uses their lightweight ReAl alloy, 50% recycled material, and aluminum smelter with renewable energy sources to reduce the carbon footprint of the pack by fifty percent.
August 2022:Â ALM Envases, a Spanish supplier of aluminum aerosols, was purchased by Colep Packaging for a 40% stake. The acquisition was made to broaden the company's packaging options. This is another element in the strategic implementation process that gives the business a more powerful response to the market and a more solidified relationship with its clients. Additionally, the acquisition will provide Colep access to ALM's know-how and technology so that it can service the more difficult aerosol can market.
Crown Holdings Inc., announced in August 2020 that it would set up its operations at a new beverage can plant with one line in Rio Verde, Brazil.
Ball Corporation signed two virtual power purchase agreements in July 2020 to support its goal of achieving 100% European market renewables.
Ball Corporation entered into a deal with Acosta, the largest sales and retail marketing organization in the CPG sector, in May 2020, to represent their aluminum cups sold through retail trade as well as on-premises outlets.
