On Nov. 28, 2023, Materialise, a leading 3D printing service provider, introduced a case management solution for hospital point-of-care 3D printing labs, Mimics Flow Case Management, for the medical industry. The new offering enables hospitals to enforce quality management within 3D workflows digitally, streamline point-of-care and 3D printing processes, and empower collaboration between clinicians, 3D lab leaders, and engineers.
On Nov. 27, 2023, Ricoh, a Japanese imaging and electronics company, announced a partnership with a Belgian 3D printing firm, Materialise, to increase clinicians' access. The partnership will enable Ricoh to bring point-of-care 3D printing to hospitals across the US, allowing for manufacturing products, such as anatomical models of a patient's anatomy.
The large managed services infrastructure by Ricoh will enable Materialise to implement hospital systems more quickly and affordably and scale 3D technology for their physicians and patients. Materialise's end-to-end software platforms can support 3D planning and 3D printing applications at the Point of Care.

On Jun. 28, 2021, Volkswagen (Germany), a leading car manufacturer, announced its plans to use binder jet 3D printing techniques to manufacture components at its Wolfsburg, Germany plant in Germany. The company has become the first automaker to use 3D printing technology for the automotive production process. Volkswagen has also expanded its partnership with OEM HP, a 3D printer enabler, and Siemens to introduce the technology to reduce costs and increase the productivity of its manufacturing process.
