Oct.30, 2023- Egyptian system integrator Giza Systems announced being awarded a contract by the Egyptian Electricity Transmission Company (EETC) for the IIoT-based substation automation project. The project includes a centralized control center for managing 20 high-voltage substations.Â
The company plans to implement a substations monitoring and analytics project for the EETC in the Cairo Zone. The project scope comprises the development of an IIoT solution that can enable remote monitoring, analytics, and management of critical alarms within EETC's high-voltage substations. The project will also deliver a centralized control center, enabling EETC to manage 20 substations remotely.
Sep.27, 2023- Transmission system operator (TSO) TenneT announced signing a $2 BN framework contract with Hitachi Energy, GE Grid, and Royal SMIT for the substations upgrade. The framework agreement includes the supply of 110 compensation coils and 160 power transformers across Germany and the Netherlands. TenneT and Siemens Energy allocated $1.23 BN for the German substations' modernization and $772.7 MN for the Dutch substations.

The digitization project aims to improve the automation of old transmission substations and systems with the proposed connectivity of TCN's Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition system (SCADA).
