The South African division of MTN Group will make a significant investment in its network infrastructure in an effort to address the protracted power crisis that has bedevilled the nation for months.
The mobile operator reported that since nearly 900 diesel generators, more than 20,000 batteries, and 5,000 rectifiers were installed at its locations across the nation, its network availability had increased by 15%.

Caterpillar has introduced the Cat XQ330 mobile diesel generator set, a new power option for prime and standby power applications that satisfies U.S. EPA Tier 4 Final emission standards.
The Cat C9.3B diesel engine powers the XQ330, which can produce up to 288 kW in standby and 264 kW in prime operation at 60 Hz, or up to 341 kVA in standby and 310 kVA in prime power applications at 50 Hz peak output.
