Guardian Glass has launched Protective Glass ClimaGuard 55 coated glass, which offers the best-in-class solar heat gain coefficient for the mid-VLT category product in North America to assist residential window manufacturers in meeting increasingly strict energy standards with performance that leads the industry.
ClimaGuard 55 coating is a double-silver product with triple silver performance that is created for ENERGY STAR Version 7.0 compliance in the Southern, South-Central, and North-Central zones of the United States. It offers a U-Value of 0.243 to promote thermal insulation, a visible light transmission of 55%, and a best-in-class solar heat gain coefficient of 0.258.
Warm-climate homes will benefit from ClimaGuard 55's unobtrusive, neutral look as well as its ability to reduce solar heat gain and glare without making a space feel smaller or dimming their view. Performance will be further improved by substantially lowering solar heat gain and U-Value when CG 55 is combined with Guardian ClimaGuard IS 20 interior surface coating.
With little to no changes to window designs, Guardian Glass experts can assist manufacturers and builders that use this glass to comply with updated codes.
