June 2023: Novo Nordisk stated that it has gone into exclusive discussions to acquire a majority share in Biocorp, a company that manufactures devices used in the administration of drugs. Biocorp is a French company that designs, develops, and produces medical equipment and delivery systems. Mallya, a Bluetooth-enabled smart accessory for pen injectors, is one of its products. Mallya is a linked smart sensor that may be attached directly to insulin pen injectors. It automatically records vital treatment data and sends it to a specialized app in digital form. The information contains the number of units of insulin, the time, and the date of each injection. In December of 2022, the FDA approved Mallya for use.
