July 2023: Teva introduced a digitally-enabled inhaler for patients with asthma and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) in the UK, the device's first European market. In-built sensors on the GoResp Digihaler, which administers the long-acting beta agonist formoterol and the inhaled corticosteroid budesonide, identify and log information on a patient's usage of and proficiency with the inhaler. Through a Bluetooth connection, users may examine the findings on a companion app and share the information with their healthcare physician. Teva claims that this is the first integrated inhaler device equipped with sensors that can identify and document objective information about the patient using the device, such as inspiratory flow measurements that can help categorize respiratory symptoms. To increase patient compliance, the companion app also has a feature that allows patients to be reminded when to take their prescription.

June 2023: With the collaboration with Teva Pharmaceuticals, Phil Inc., a patient access platform firm that is revolutionizing life science product commercialization, will enable Digihaler® medicines to be prescribed through the PhilRx Patient Access Platform. The first and only smart inhaler device capable of offering objective inhaler data to enable educated treatment discussions between patients and physicians on asthma management is Teva's Digihaler system. The collaboration between Phil and Teva Pharmaceuticals aims to make it easier, quicker, and more affordable for patients to get and renew their Digihaler prescription. Patients may fill prescriptions, check prescription records, and get help understanding insurance benefits by using the PhilRx Patient Access Platform.
