    • July 2023: The initial case of Broncus Holding Corporation's targeted lung denervation (TLD) radiofrequency ablation system, designed to treat chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), has been successfully completed. The evaluation of the TLD ablation system's safety and efficacy will be the subject of a multicenter study conducted at 26 sites throughout China. The initial surgical procedure was carried out at the West China Hospital affiliated with Sichuan University in China. Globally, COPD ranks as the third most prevalent cause of mortality and is distinguished by persistent coughing and respiratory distress. It is frequently brought on by air pollution and smoking. COPD is an intractable disease, per the World Health Organization (WHO), but surgical intervention is a viable symptomatic treatment option.

    • March 2023: The Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at the University of Utah and Stratus Medical, a company dedicated to advancing radiofrequency (RF) ablation treatment for pain, announced today the enrollment of the first patient in the COBRA study. This study is a double-blind, randomized trial that compares bipolar treatment with Nimbus® RF Multitined Expandable Electrode to conventional radiofrequency ablation for the treatment of sacroiliac joint (SIJ) pain. At three-month, six-month, twelve-month, eighteen-month, and twenty-four-month endpoints, this IRB-approved study will be the first level I, double-blind, randomized control trial to compare Nimbus bipolar radiofrequency ablation to conventional radiofrequency ablation. Quantifying the efficacy and duration of relief for the well-known bipolar application in the sacroiliac joint is the objective of this research.
