A new Power Transformer (Toshiba brand) was installed at the Santa Rosa Substation by the National Electricity Administration (ANDE) to help fulfil the Department of San Pedro's increasing demand for electricity. More than 26,000 customers in the cities of Santa Rosa, Lima, General Resquin, Naranjito, and San Vicente Pancholo will receive a high-quality electrical service as a result of this power transformer, which has a capacity of 41.7 MVA and began operating in parallel with another transformer with comparable characteristics.

HD Hyundai Electric & Energy Systems Co. of South Korea has won two contracts to supply environmentally friendly power transformers and other equipment from the US and Denmark. In order to supply power transformers to American energy company Xcel Energy, HD Hyundai Electric said that its U.S. subsidiary, Hyundai Electric America Corp., has secured a 213.6 billion won (US$164 million) contract.
In addition, HD Hyundai Electric announced that it has signed a 79.2 billion won deal with Semco Maritime, a Danish project engineering company, to provide power transformers for offshore substations and associated hardware.
According to HD Hyundai Electric, they will be supplied to a Polish offshore wind farm in the Baltic Sea, in which Semco Maritime is taking part as the lead manager. The company intends to intensify efforts to develop new business prospects by closely monitoring the expanding worldwide market for renewable energy.
The International Energy Agency predicts that by 2025, renewable electricity generation will make up 35% of all power generated globally. This growth will occur at an average annual rate of 9%.
