Aug 2023: Signify provided further information about its relationship with Zhejiang Klite Lighting Holdings Co., Ltd., the Chinese manufacturing company it owns 51% of when it announced a significant plant expansion earlier this month. In a press announcement announcing the construction of a 200,000-square-meter facility, which will fully operate 192 manufacturing lines by the end of the year, Signify described the four-year-old hook-up with Klite as a "joint venture." By purchasing more than half of Klite, Signify hoped to increase its influence over a significant supplier, albeit not acquire total control over them. By doing this, it could claim improved protection for supply chain problems, intellectual property, and the industrialization of new goods.
