It was announced by Sonoco.com on November 10th, 2022, that Sonoco is one of the world’s largest manufacturers of packaging products, including composite/reinforced paperboard sheets used as corner posts for edge protection of large export boxes. A new protective packaging production facility is set to open in Bursa, Turkey, in November – one year after Sonoco opened its first-ever Sonopost manufacturing site at Sochaczew in Poland.
In January 2022, Ball Metalpack Inc. was acquired by Sonoco for approximately $200 million from Ball Corporation and Platinum Equity, a leading producer of sustainable metal packaging for food and household products, as well as the biggest producer of aerosol cans in North America.
