This innovation consists of using the high light adsorption properties of Organic Photoconductive Film (OPF) and integrating electrical pixel isolation techniques to thin the photoelectric conversion layer. In this technology, the OPF layer that performs the photo conversion, and the charge storage and read-out circuit functions are built into one novel structure but performed as separate layers. This configuration considerably subsists the peripheral pixel response of the green, red and blue wavelengths, resulting in the low inter-pixel chromatic crosstalk and result in more accurate color reproduction than in the previous configurations of the device in different types of illumination.


In August 2022, it was reported that Researchers at the Chalmers University of Technology found a simple modification that can improve the efficiency of organic electronics to two hundred percent. Their findings regarding “double-doped” polymers have the potential applications in OLED screens, plastic solar cells, and bioelectronics among other devices.
