Latest Microcatheters Companies Update
Nov 2023: Abbott Laboratories and St. Jude Medical Inc. announced plans to retail a portion of their medical equipment to Terumo Corp., a Japanese company, for around $1.12 billion. The all-cash deal will include Abbott's Vado Steerable Sheath and St. Jude Medical's Angio-Seal and Femoseal vascular closure devices. Abbott stated that the agreement represents a significant advancement toward completing its anticipated year-end purchase of St. Jude Medical.
Aug 2023: The US market for large bore catheters for hemodialysis will now be served by the Arrow ErgoPack Complete Kits, according to a statement made by medical technology company Teleflex. Thanks to the kit's multiple French sizes, lumens, and lengths, clinicians can choose between large bore lines in the expanded kit configuration or Arrowg+ard Blue hemodialysate. The enlarged system includes several upgrades inspired by clinicians, such as the Nitinol Guidewire, less likely to kink than stainless steel, and the Arrow GlideWheel Advancer, which provides tactile input and finer control. Pre-filled sterile saline syringes, one for each lumen of the catheter, and accompanying guidelines for ultrasound use are also included in the revisions. A unique mix of components makes up the system to insert CVCs in an ergonomic and effective top-down, left-to-right configuration.
