July 2023- Pidilite, A commanding maker of construction and specialty chemicals, has unveiled the announcement of the latest movement focused on growing customer knowledge related to the interests of using established conclusions for tile fixing. The change communicates the customer's obstacle with broken tiles, unesthetic existence, falling tiles, and debonding after conventional tile fixing methods, including cement. The consumption of tiles has prevailed substantial adjustment over the preceding few decades, and adhering to standard tile-fixing attitudes may not be associated with the rising requirements of modern customers. Vitrified tiles, contrasting to ceramic tiles, have a non-porous and smooth surface at the back, which is hard to tie with cement only. Also, tile dimensions are being bigger. The standard practice suggests little bond strength. Modern-day stones and tiles demand adhesives with greater bond force that hung uniformly for appropriate fixing. Moreover, most other fixing agents are water-cured and findings in immediate evaporation; therefore, they break and come undone when subjected to weather change cycles. On the other hand, Roff adhesives are self-healed and, therefore, are not modified by amendments in climatic situations.
October 2019: Pidilite launched TVC for tile adhesive brand Roff. Roff has unveiled its first TVC themed around ‘Roff mein hain magar ki jakkad’. Roff is an environmentally safe and economical additive for cement and offers a comprehensive range of Tile and Stone fixing solutions. Roff not just improves the strength of cement but also enhances its workability for fixing tiles.
In 2024: Sika launched the SikaCeram®-255, a high-performance, flexible tile adhesive designed for both residential and commercial applications. It offers improved bonding strength, enhanced flexibility, and resistance to moisture and temperature variations.
