New tyres from JK Tyres are designed to be more environmentally friendly. The R&D team at the Raghupati Singhania Centre of Excellence, the brand's global tech centre located in Mysore, has created all of the new sustainable tyres labelled as "UX Green." The new tyre is expected to perform similarly to the typical radial tyre while leaving a smaller carbon imprint. According to JK Tyre, the "UX Green" tyre has undergone road and racecourse testing to verify its performance.
The company's global tech centre conducted research at least ten years prior to designing and developing the tyres. The R&D team was tasked with developing substitutes that would enable products to use sustainable materials in place of traditional petroleum-based ones. According to JK Tyre, materials that are recyclable, renewable, and biobased were used in the product development process. Natural rubber, bio-attributed SBR and BR, bio-based oil, recycled rubber powder, recovered carbonaceous black, recycled polyester and steel wire are some of the sustainable materials used in the development of the tyre. The International Sustainability Carbon Certification, or ISCC, has certified the majority of these materials.

Schwalbe has unveiled the Green Marathon bicycle tyre, which is composed of 70% recycled and renewable materials. The brand asserts that this is the first bicycle tyre to "close the loop"—that is, to recycle the tyre itself when its useful life comes to an end—in a daring move towards a circular economy. The Green Marathon is claimed to require 34% less CO2 in production than its predecessor.
