Entis and Chokwang Paint have partnered to repurpose waste plastic into powder coating materials. Entis declared that for the first time ever, the two businesses will introduce POWLAC PE, a powder coating material created using chemical plastic recycling technology. Entis manufactures and provides Chokwang Paint with the chemically recycled polyester resin ECOCRYL, which is used to create powder coating materials.
Entis developed ECOCRYL, a polyester resin for powder coating that has the same physical characteristics as conventional products despite being chemically recycled. A large portion of the industry is concentrated on the fact that Entis and Chokwang Paint are expanding chemical recycling from plastics to the paint industry, thus opening up new possibilities for environmentally friendly paints.
A joint venture called Entis was founded by Allnex and SK Chemicals. With recent success in creating environmentally friendly products like water-based paint for railway cars and bio-UV paint that has recently received certifications both domestically and internationally, Chokwang Paint is presently concentrating on growing its line of business.
Starting with the creation of the POWLAC PE powder coating material, Chokwang Paint intends to extend the use of chemical recycling to a number of POWLAC paints.
