On July 15, 2023 The US Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) awarded contracts to two prime defense contractors, Raytheon Technologies Corp. (RTX) and Northrop Grumman Corp., for THREADS (the technologies for heat removal in electronics at the device scale) program. DARPA is looking to limit waste heat in GaN-based power amplifiers to enhance the performance and lifetimes of military radar, electronic warfare (EW), communications, and other RF & microwave systems.

On Sept.26, 2023 Rohde & Schwarz and SRC Inc. announced a partnership to develop electronic warfare (EW) products and EW environmental signal generation. Utilizing the R&S SMW200A vector signal generator, SRC created the RSGEN. The core functionality of the RSGEN extends the product capability of Rohde & Schwarz signal generation by utilizing SRC's leadership in the EW threat library community.

On Jun. 15, 2023 Elbit Systems Ltd. (Israel) announced winning a contract from Airbus Helicopters to supply Electronic warfare systems for the German Air Force. Elbit Systems' technology will be used as part of the platform upgrade program for Germany's Bundeswehr equipment, IT, and in-service support for Airborne Electronic Warfare (EW) self-protection systems for CH‑53 GS/GE transport helicopters.

On Jun. 19, 2023 Elbit Systems Ltd. (Israel) unveiled its new electronic warfare (EW) capability at the Paris Airshow 2023. Elbit's new EW technology helps counter drone threats. Provided via a digital Radar Warning Receivers (RWR), Elbit's proven Airborne self-protection EW suite enables drone detection & identification and locating Personal Location Beacon (PLB) of ground forces and pilots.

Elbit's EW suite comprises an EW controller, IR missile warning system (MWS), digital radar warning receiver, laser warning systems (LWS), DIRCM, countermeasure dispenser system (CMDS), and electronic countermeasure jammer, operating individually or rotary-wing & fixed-wing aircraft to provide maximum platform protection and aircrew survivability against advanced threats.
