Global Aviation Maintenance Training Market
On Oct. 13, 2023 E-commerce giant Amazon launched an aviation maintenance training program, partnering with a recently launched Part 147 school in Lakeland, Florida. The career training program designed for workers interested in pursuing a career in MRO will grow the aviation maintenance workforce pipeline. The partnership is a part of Amazon's Career Choice program for employees to learn new skills to launch career paths internally or in other industries.
On Oct. 13, 2023Â Charlotte Technical College (CTC) announced that the construction of a new building and hangar at Punta Gorda Airport for its Aviation program will be completed by spring 2025. The aviation program's new location will be on an acre by the airport's general aviation ramp on Challenger Boulevard.Â
On Oct. 11, 2023 Tulsa Tech announced receiving a new training tool, Perfect Point EDM E-drill, to train students in aviation maintenance. The new training tool is faster and safer, leading to less damage than traditional methods of removing fasteners. Tulsa Tech won a donation of Perfect Point EDM E-drill along with training for its use for students.
On May 19, 2023Â Leonardo announced the expansion of its Italian aircraft maintenance training capability, becoming the first company in the country to deliver comprehensive military aircraft basic maintenance training. The company will train aviation maintenance technicians qualified to work on fixed-wing aircraft, helicopters, UAS, and components.
On Mar.15, 2023 the Aviation Institute of Maintenance (AIM) announced a $431,200 Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) grant to develop veteran training and high school dual enrollment programs. The FAA found AIM to be aligned with its mission and goals. Therefore, it awarded them the $5 million available funding under the Aviation Maintenance Technical Workers Workforce Development Grant (AWD). The FAA grant will help attract and train students for careers as aviation maintenance technicians.
