A Valeo entity dedicated to after-sales activities, Valeo Service, is committed to gradually reducing the environmental impact of automotive after-sales activities as part of Valeo's CAP 50 plan to reduce the carbon footprint of its entire value chain. Valeo Service also supports its professional partners in their efforts to contribute to a more sustainable aftermarket.
The rubber blade used by Valeo Canopy is composed of more than 80% natural, renewable, or recycled components, including carbon black from recycled tyres, cane sugar, and vegetable oils.
With up to 15% recycled steel in the metal structures and up to 50% recycled plastic in the end clips, Canopy wiper blades use an increased amount of recycled material.
The wiper blades from the Valeo Canopy series are very simple to assemble and are ready to use without the need for extra adapters that would otherwise be thrown away. 95 percent of the fleet's vehicles in Europe are covered. Canopy is packaged entirely out of recycled cardboard and has a solvent-free water-based ink print.
Along with taking this specific measure for the Valeo Canopy line, Valeo has made a commitment to replace single-use plastic packaging with more environmentally friendly cardboard alternatives on all of its wiper blade lines in Europe by the end of 2024.
